spark360 Behind The Scenes: High Definition Logistics

There are companies that move people from one part of the country to another, and then there are companies that move key pieces of businesses from one part of North America to another. The latter category is where High Definition Logistics is making its mark, and it’s spark360’s job to make sure that story gets told.

To be honest, I hadn’t heard of the “logistics” industry before preparing for this story. Movers? Freight shipping? Transportation companies? Sure, but logistics brings to mind data wrangling or management. And that does indeed happen to be a big part of what Don Norwood’s company does for its clients; the big pieces of telecommunications, medical and manufacturing gear that HDL moves all over North America come with a lot of information attached to them, and HDL rides the wave of technological innovation to help manage that data while those products ride in its carrier partners’ trucks and planes.

But our job is to clarify, humanize and find the story inside every business we profile on spark360.tv. So we wanted to make sure the mainstream audience knew exactly what HDL moves and does for a living. And for those who already know about logistics and want to know more about what HDL thinks sets its apart from the logistics industry pack, we deliver that information as well.

The storytelling mission at spark360 is to address the needs of everybody in our audience – HDL’s potential customers, potential investors, potential employees or managers. That’s part of the value we bring to our customers: the companies who pay us to get their messages across in four-to-six-minute features.

So I guess both HDL and spark360 are in the logistics business. We both move information for our clients. We both have to understand our clients’ specific business needs.

And we both have to deliver on time, of course.
