“Results Guy” Tony Jeary Shares Secrets of Strategic Acceleration

You’re a Fortune 500 CEO, and the responsibility for your company’s success – and the livelihoods of those in your organization – rests firmly on your shoulders. You’ve helped to build a successful foundation, but the 21st century business landscape calls for big decisions made quickly, and those decisions don’t just travel around the world in a heartbeat; they also reverberate on the Internet, for better or worse.

So what do you do when you’re a top business executive, and you see that success scramble priorities and obscure company goals?

You call “The Results Guy,” Tony Jeary, coach to the world’s top CEO’s. Jeary’s client list is a Who’s Who of global business excellence. He clearly is a coach of high achievers: Walmart, Samsung, Firestone, New York Life, Sam’s Club, Shell. He’s an author with a track record of success, and he promises to deliver results fast.

Jeary knows that in a 24/7 media universe, speed can be both ally and enemy. “Everything’s coming at us fast, and how do we even run our personal and our professional lives and be successful at both?” Jeary said. “And then you take either one of those and you see all the things coming at us. What we’re about is helping people get the clarity of where they really want to go and focus their efforts.”

Clarity, focus and execution – those are the hallmarks of Jeary’s Strategic Acceleration. That’s not just the name of his seventh and latest book; it’s also emblazoned over the door of his Strategic Acceleration Studio on the grounds of his North Texas estate, where executives come from around the world to take part in his intensive day-long sessions. A nearby helipad helps facilitate quick and easy access for those business leaders looking to achieve positive results.

So what exactly is Strategic Acceleration? Start with clarity; using customized flowcharts and software, Jeary gets executives to prioritize and filter out extraneous noise. “First off, get clear of your universe – who do you want to communicate to? Then get clear on your brand – what do you want to say?”

Then focus – forget endless planning sessions and meetings. Jeary helps his clients work up a specific, simple action plan. Finally, there’s execution; he helps executives refine their powers of persuasion and communication in delivering that plan down through their organizations.

“A lot of people have blind spots,” Jeary said. “They’re so used to doing things the old way, and what I do is help people uncover and see things that are out there and uncover trends that are working, so they can jump on them – so they can advance and do what they want to accomplish, including taking their brand out to the world.”

Firestone is a perfect example, says Jeary. The president of its U.S. business, Mike Gorey, reached out to Jeary and witnessed firsthand his organizational wizardry. “We set a vision, brought his executives together many times at my studio, where we came in, strategized on where we were going, put it up on a screen, tied it all together, cascaded it down to his five thousand people, and in about a three year period we tripled their business. Tripled it.”

“The biggest benefit is when you helped us with strategic planning,” Gorey says to Jeary in a video testimonial highlighting the accelerated results. “You helped facilitate it, you helped question it, you helped keep it from falling into a predictable exercise.”

And while Jeary has been a Firestone and Walmart CEO coach – not to mention the U.S. Senate -  he’s also offered his services to those leading small/medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurs. All he needs is someone who’s already had some success in the business world. “I build relationships so that in a short amount of time, I can do a session with them and their top people and really help them clarify where they are going, really help them focus their planning,” Jeary said. “A lot of people today string that out for weeks. I do that in a day.”

Jeary doesn’t take full credit for any rise in bottom-line profitability at his client’s companies, “but working with top people, I coach them, and I really help them be the best.” His in-studio team provides some extra brainpower, and Jeary is also fortunate to call upon a Rolodex filled with 20,000 contacts acquired during his years in the business world. All are put to use to drive Strategic Acceleration – to enhance what Jeary calls ROE: Return On Effort.

“I believe that at the bottom line of everything, leadership is a results contest,” Jeary said. “That’s what I believe and I believe if you really want to win the contest, you’ve got to take the effort of all the people you are directing and direct it in the way that people are getting their very best. Every day your people, whether they’re at the bottom or the top, they are doing their best to be able to make your vision a reality.”
