Leader among DFW Toyota Dealerships Revs Engine For Toyotathon

Like every other Toyota dealer in the country, Toyota of Lewisville in the Dallas-Fort Worth area spends the last six weeks of each year in high gear for Toyotathon. It’s been the auto company’s major sales event for more than three decades, featuring special incentives, rebates and bargains, and the unveiling of new car models.

There are special dealership activities geared to each local community; in Toyota of Lewisville’s case, that means having some Dallas Cowboys show up to sign autographs, and giving away free leather interiors to car buyers and outfitting vans from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dallas.

“There’s balloons all over the showroom, there’s a general excitement around the dealership,” said new car sales manager Chris George. “The customers love it. I’ve had people tell us months prior that they’re literally going to wait until Toyotathon hits before they buy a car. It’s just an exciting time to be in the car business, exciting time to buy a car.”

It’s also a busy time for Toyota of Lewisville, one of the largest DFW Toyota dealerships and one of the highest-volume auto retailers in Texas. That’s because owner Rene` Isip, who learned the auto dealer trade from the ground up, uses each Toyotathon to reintroduce his six-year-old business – and the 80,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility it’s housed in – to the Lewisville community in particular and Dallas-Fort Worth at large.

“It’s a way for us to end the year with a big celebration,” Isip said. “We’re just looking at taking care of our customers, making sure they’re getting the best deal – better deals than what Toyota’s offering out there – and just bringing our community together.”

A new development will help Isip’s business stand out among other Toyota dealerships in Dallas-Fort Worth: the Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park, a nearby 269-acre sports complex that features baseball, football and soccer fields, a skate park, dog parks, walking trails and three lakes. Isip said he acquired the naming rights to Railroad Park as “a way for me to tie Toyota of Lewisville into the community and to the city of Lewisville.”

Isip sees each Toyotathon as a way to further cement that business/community connection. “It’s a yearly event – it’s a celebration for us and our community, and so that’s really the value we try to bring to our customers.”

The value in being one of the busiest DFW Toyota dealerships also means that Isip has already sold a lot of Corollas, Camrys, Highlanders, 4Runners and Priuses – and those vehicles will occasionally need maintenance and repair. So Toyotathon also serves as a way to remind car owners of what the dealership offers in its Toyota parts and service department.

“We have certified factory-trained master technicians, we have master-trained advisers who are very knowledgeable,” said Rich Hoch, Toyota of Lewisville service manager. “Our policy is if we wouldn’t sell it to our mom, sell it to our family members, then we would not offer it to a customer. We sell one hundred percent honest, ethical work and we are here just to do anything we can just to help our customer.”

That commitment includes the latest technology inside the service area, and comfortable amenities surrounding it.

Isip boasts being one of the few car dealerships in Dallas, TX to have front-end alignment machines for both cars and trucks, taking into account the wider wheel-base for the latter vehicles; that means less wait-times for customers. Toyota also has its own standalone four-bay oil change facility that can guarantee this routine maintenance procedure gets done in less than 20 minutes.

While customers wait for their cars to be serviced, they can grab a meal at the full-service Avalon Cafe. The entire dealership has free WiFi, but there is also a separate business center with wireless internet. Children can bounce around in a play area with a TV and a selection of movies, or can marvel at the saltwater fish that live in a 300-gallon aquarium. There’s another TV viewing area with theater-style seating. For those who need to run errands while their car is in a service bay, Toyota of Lewisville has a shuttle service or will provide a loaner car.

A facility with the latest technology and amenities is one thing; the people who work inside it are another matter. “Without them it’s just four walls,” Isip said, and he takes the time to brag on associates who he believes are not only the best among other DFW Toyota dealerships, but other auto retailers in the industry. “They know how to sell the vehicles, they know how to go over the vehicle, they’ll answer every question, and if they don’t know they’re not going to try and wing it and say they know something – they’ll always find somebody to answer that question. And the biggest thing about our sales associates is that they will always follow up and check up with you to make sure everything’s okay, so you’re tied in hopefully to Toyota of Lewisville for life.”
